JSON OS

Terms of Service

Effective 2026-05-02. By accessing or using JSON OS at https://jsonos.online ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

JSON OS is a free, browser-based JSON workbench. It runs entirely on your device. You can view, edit, validate, format, repair, query, transform, compare, and export JSON. The Service is provided at no cost.

2. Your content

The JSON documents, schemas, and any other input you load into JSON OS are your content. We do not access, copy, or transmit it. The Service stores your content locally on your device using IndexedDB and localStorage; clearing your browser's site data removes it.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any data you load into the Service, and for backing it up if it is important to you.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

4. Intellectual property

The JSON OS application, including its name, logo, and source code, is owned by its authors and licensed under the terms specified in the project repository. Trademarks of third parties referenced in the Service belong to their respective owners.

5. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. You use the Service at your own risk.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will JSON OS, its authors, or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Because JSON OS does not store your data on its servers, you remain solely responsible for backing up your work.

7. Modifications to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also discontinue the Service. We will try to give reasonable notice for breaking changes, but are not obligated to.

8. Modifications to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always live at this URL with the effective date at the top. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located there.
